A trip of a lifetime! That’s what the European trip of Julio and Lucy
was during the month of May and early June. Having received an invitation to attend “Future Now”, an international event hosted by the Christian Community in
Dortmund, Germany, Julio and Lucy began to see that this was a perfect opportunity to finally meet friends and supporters of the Project who hailed from Europe.
Funding for this extensive and comprehensive trip was found in various
ways, some through the sale of the Q’ewar products, others through generous
donations. It would be a trip that would amalgamate and solidify
friendships and connections that had slowly grown through the years since Q’ewar’s founding.
Meeting the rest of their party in Toronto, Canada, they flew off to Frankfurt,
Germany, then on to many other cities in Germany and Switzerland in their
month itinerary. Staying with past volunteers of the Project; new friends who
were physicians and educators in the Anthroposophy Movement; and old friends
who had kept the faith since the beginning of the fledgling project – it was a time
to renew and deepen friendships that stretched across the ocean.
The high point of the month was the four day International Congress of the
Christian Community. Filled with activities which ranged from educational to
spiritual to artistic, Julio and Lucy joined in and were deeply enriched by the
experience.
Of course, touring was another fabulous part of this European adventure.
Visiting cathedrals, historic places in the grand cities they visited and having a
night at the theatre made this journey full and exciting.
All in all, Julio and Lucy had a most fruitful journey and came home with
a fullness of gratitude for the opportunity to make this “trip of a lifetime”.
Revitalizing friendships, making new friends and sharing with so many the
realities and strengths of the Q’ewar Project, this European trip has deepened
the commitment of many to continue their support of this worthy project.
A special thanks to Senora Margaret Daniels, as the first fund-raiser for Q’ewar
and who continues to support the Project through her NGO Lakuna’s Dream.
Margaret took great loving care of Julio and Lucy while they were in Switzerland.
Julio and Lucy extend their deepest thanks and profound appreciation for the
hospitality and kindnesses of all who made their trip so memorable and fulfilling.
Sharing their photographs and stories very recently with all in the Q’ewar Project
was a very special evening and each took away from the viewing their own
special feelings and thoughts of how many friends they have across the ocean!
