Dear Friends
Thanks to the joint efforts of our young German volunteers, Indra, Ina and Nora (provided by the Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V. Institution), and Regina Stelzer (an independent volunteer from Austria) as well as the generosity of our friends and family, yesterday we were able to acquire a hearing aid for Esther, with eight channels and costing 3,750 soles/ US$1,214.
Esther Flores, has been a member of our project for three years. She works in the doll making workshop. Esther lives in the campesino community of Ttiomayo, with her very impoverished family. Due to an infection when she was very young, Esther lost hearing in her right ear, and the left only funtions at 20%.
In order to acquire the hearing aid, the volunteers coordinated a Facebook campaign to raise funds, with a quick and successful result. We are very happy and appreciative of this. Esther will follow up with language therapy. We are attaching 7 photos here of the purchase of the hearing aids.
